We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve wracking. We want to help make your first experience at The River a great one!
We hope some of the information below will give you a good idea of what to expect at our lively church on Mount Desert Island.

Where & When
Our church is located on the edge of Acadia National Park in the beautiful village of Town Hill, ME!
Our address is 1184 State Highway 102 Bar Harbor, ME, 40605.
When crossing the bridge onto the island, bear right at the gas station. Continue following Route 102 for about 2.5 miles through the village of Town Hill. Once in the village, you will see the fire station and bank to your right. Continue on about 3/4 of a mile and The River will be on your right.

What to Expect
Whether you are new to The River, or new to church in general, we are glad you have joined us! We believe everyone matters to God - that includes you!
When you arrive at The River, you will be greeted by our friendly welcome team! We invite you to grab a cup of coffee and mingle and chat before service starts at 10:30. Our worship service is a time of singing and lifting praises as we prepare our hearts and minds for God to do greater things. Service then transitions to the Word where Pastor Jody delivers a Bible-based Christ-centered message. Our full service lasts approximately 2 hours.
There is a place for your kids and teens here at The River as well! Whether it is in the nursery, River Kids, or Impact Youth, we have an experience crafted just for them! A staffed nursery is provided for the full duration of service most Sundays for children from 6 months - 2 years of age. Directly following worship, we have the following groups available for kids and teens:
River Littles (Ages 3-5)
River Kids (Ages 6-11)
Impact Youth (Ages 12-18)
We welcome you to come as you are - you don’t have to dress up or pretend to be something you’re not at The River!
We want to meet you and your family! Please be sure to fill out a Connect Card; you should have received one from the Welcome Team upon arrival, but if you didn’t, they are located on our information table in the back of the sanctuary. Simply hand this card to one of our welcome team members wearing a lanyard or put it one of our offering plates. We can’t wait to connect with you!
